This unforgettable evening kicks off with a festive cocktail reception, followed by an energetic show featuring incredible performances of songs and show tunes you know and love, all followed by a dessert reception where you can mingle with the Broadway stars! The evening is hosted by renowned lyricist and composer Neil Berg, creator and co-producer of 100 Years of Broadway, now the number one Broadway touring concert in the United States, expected to visit over 120 cities by 2011!
All proceeds raised by A Night of Broadway Stars will benefit the homeless young people served by Covenant House.
This year all contributions will make double the impact due to a dollar for dollar matching gift from an anonymous supporter!

"Covenant House kids are strong. They have had a lot of tough times…but like strong medicine…if it does not kill you it makes you stronger. These kids have had more than their fair share of strong medicine," stated John Berger, President of this year’s title sponsor, Alterra.
Without a doubt, our youth captured the audience last year with song and dance, as well as their stories. They serve as an important reminder of why A Night of Broadway Stars is so special, and why it truly is an event like no other. Marquis, for example, was one of the passionate young adults on stage sharing the trials of his childhood with the audience. At the event last year, he was in our crisis shelter. Today, he is in our Rights of Passage program — attending college and interning for the City of Newark. We continue to open doors for Marquis, and other young people just like him - -By attending this spectacular event, you too can open doors for our homeless youth.
Amber spoke about her struggles with mental illness and trying to maintain a sense of balance. Since the show, she has remained stabilized on her medications, and like 250 youth in New Jersey last year, moved on to her own stable living environment.
Marvin and Shayrie came from troubled backgrounds and ended up at Covenant House. Both have moved into our Rights of Passage program, along with 56 other New Jersey youth over the past year.
Sirya wanted nothing more than to leave her past behind her and move toward a positive future. After A Night of Broadway Stars, she obtained 2 jobs, just like 200 of our youth last year, and is working hard to move in to her own apartment.
